Show Team
Students of SWS are welcome to join our off-site show team once they reach the appropriate level of riding and own or lease a horse. Although we are a competitive show team, winning is not our goal. Our goal is to improve our horsemanship, make lifelong partnerships, and have fun while enjoying horses together!
Our show team competes in local schooling and open shows, and any division or breed shows that our riders are ready for and want to participate in. All riders participating with the show team will be required to be enrolled in riding lessons with us in addition to participation with the team. This means riders need to be enrolled in lessons from March through December at a minimum. These lessons will consist of riding, horsemanship and ground skills. Our goal is for team members to be able to lunge, load, feed, clean stalls, groom, tack, clip, bathe, and warm up independently. As such, ground lessons and horsemanship training will be part of our regular lesson program and will be heightened for team members to ensure they are independent horsemen and horsewomen.
